We're taking bets that Hottie of the Year...

Hottie of the Year Rachel McAdams is quickly becoming America's New Sweetheart. She had 3 great movies in 2005 and is poised to be the next big thing for years to come. She has a perfect smile and is able to flawlessly change her hair color. She has extremely captivating eyes that would make almost any guy melt. I look forward to many more years of blogging about Rachel.

We're taking bets it's great to go happy...

The headline reads, "Bowler dies after Third Perfect Game." To many people this would be a depressing thing, but not according to his friends. It is exactly how he would have liked to go. Clutching a bowling ball in a bowling shirt with grease stains on it, knowing he bowled the third best game of his life. It's funny to me because I think that I would hope to be instantly incinerated/vaporized or be with some combination of women including Carmen Electra, Lindsay Lohan before she lost the weight, Rachel McAdams and Scarlett Johansson, but that is just me. I wonder how other people would like to go. To be quite honest I would rather not go at all.

We're taking bets that it is time to look back...

2005 is almost over and it is time to look back on the year that was. Here are a couple of year end questions and a fun question. Please post your answers in the comments section. Remember you can be anonymous and you don't have to answer each question if you don't want to. Invite others to answer. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVERYONE!!!

A. What was your best decision of 2005?

B. What was your favorite moment of 2005?

C. Would you rather have sex with Sesame Street's Ernie or Bert?

Answers:

A. I think that my best decision was going back to school to finally finish my degree. Although I do miss UMass Lowell on a daily basis it was the best decision for me.

B. I think it has to be when the Red Sox got their World Series rings in front of the Yankees. We weren't rubbing it in, but at the same time we were really rubbing it in. I know there is a couple of conversations I have had over the last 12 months that come pretty close, but I am going to stick with the Red Sox.

C. I think I am going to go with Ernie. Bert's unibrow kind of freaks me out. I think Ernie would be tender and considerate. :)

We're taking bets drinking isn't always cool...

What the heck is going on in the world today? Who gets a two year old drunk? Juan Reyes of Patchogue, NY; that's who. Sometimes people in this world just don't get it. You are home alone with children your number one responsibility is their safety. Liquoring them up, although fun if the kids were 16, isn't safe. (Just kidding on the 16 part.) I knew I couldn't get through the end of the year without at least one UGH!!! story.

We're taking bets that it is time to make the donuts...

Sadly two great character actors died over the last week. Vincent Schiavelli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Ghost died on Monday and Michael Vale from the Dunkin Donuts commercials. Both of these actors were nothing to look at, but will be remembered for years to come because of the characters they played.

WTBT Top Movies of 2005...

Here are my top movies of 2005. These are only movies I have seen. I am sure there are a few others that were fantastic, but they just didn't make my list. Tell me about other great movies that I need to see in the comments section.

14. Sin City - Robert Rodriguez did a great job adapting Frank Miller's graphic novels.
13. Hitch - Will Smith with the first truly fun movie of 2005. Eva Mendes lays claim to super hot status. Kevin James is entertaining as always.
12. 40Year Old Virgin - Steve Carell is hilarious playing sex challenged. Gerry Bednob is hysterical as Mooj.
11. Cinderella Man - Ron Howard and Russell Crowe team together again for the real life story of boxer Jim Braddock. Amazingly well told story.
10. King Kong - Peter Jackson has redefined the epic movie. Fantastic performances and a great story. Naomi Watts was wonderful as Ann Darrow.
9. Wedding Crashers - Although it had a few disturbing scenes it was a hilarious movie. Vince Vaughn continually proves that he is one of the funniest actors out there. Rachel McAdams again proves she is my favorite.
8. Batman Begins - Resurrection of an almost dead franchise. Chris Nolan brought the Bat back to life with great performances by Christian Bale and the timeless Michael Caine.
7. March of the Penguins - Documentary which made you both laugh and cry. The penguins were also damn cute.
6. Wallace & Grommit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit - Claymation wonderfully comes back into the mainstream. Hopefully this duo has numerous sequels
5. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - Finally a worthy companion to the first three movies. The climatic battle between Obi Wan and Anakin is great. Sadly there will be no more movies. :(
4. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - The movies just keep getting better. Excellent job of condensing the story without missing the important parts. Emma Watson just keeps getting cuter as well.
3. Syriana - Intense movie that makes you wonder what really goes on in the world. George Clooney and Jeffrey Wright have some fantastic performances. Great movie that makes you wonder about the great USA.
2. Crash - Incredible cast. Incredible acting. Incredible story. This movie made more people look at how they treat others than any movie before it. If you have not seen it you should run out and get it.
1. Good Night, and Good Luck - Fantastic movie showing Edward R. Murrow's fight against McCarthyism. David Straithin should receive numerous awards for his incredible portrayal of Murrow. Very inspiring movie.

We're taking bets that you need a very Merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas everyone from everyone at WTBT!!!!

Saturday, December 24, 2005

We're taking bets that we need some new Christmas songs...

There has not been a lot of new Christmas songs in the last 20 years. Most of the music isn't relevant to the people of today. Has anyone really roasted Chestnuts on an open fire? I just recently heard Fountains of Wayne's Christmas Song. Below are the lyrics. It is really a fun song for all ages. I hope you enjoy.

"I Want An Alien For Christmas"
This year for Christmas
There's something I'd really like
So if you're up there somewhere Santa
Please don't bring me another bike
I don't need any ugly sweaters
And I don't play much basketball
But there's something kinda specialThat I want most of all...
I want an alien for Christmas
Bring me an alien this year
I want a little green guyAbout three feet high
With seventeen eyes
Who knows how to flyI
want an alien for Christmas this year
He can live in the bath tub
So don't worry about a thing
And I'll take him out for walks
When it gets nicer in the Spring
I'll always keep him company
He'll never be alone
And we can hang around the house all day
And watch the Twilight Zone
I want an alien for Christmas
Bring me an alien this year
I want a little green guy
About three feet high
With seventeen eyes
Who knows how to fly
I want an alien for Christmas this year

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Whatever happened to Hottie Piper Perabo from Coyote Ugly fame. She got off to such a promising start. She has that wonderful enormous light up a room smile that I just love. You can see her currently in Cheaper by the Dozen 2, which is probably the only real reason to see the movie. Or Tom Welling if you are into men. I hope that Piper gets another strong vehicle to show off her acting talents.

We're taking bets that you've gotten a bad gift...

It is Thursday Question time at WTBT!!! Only 3 more days until Christmas and Chanukkah. (I think this word has a million spellings) I hope everyone has a great weekend. Please post your answers in the comments section. Remember you can be anonymous and you don't have to answer each question if you don't want to. Invite others to answer. Have a great day everyone.

A. What is the worst gift you have ever received?

B. You can bring one fictional character to life. Whom would you choose?

C. If you had to go into the witness protection program and you got to choose your own name what would you choose and why?

Answers:

A. My grandmother, God rest her soul, knitted me an awful sweater one year. It was a brown cardigan that had an enormous horse on the left side. I was 12 and forced to wear it for her. It truly was awful although it was very warm.

B. I would bring Fozie Bear to life because he would always be ready with a joke and I think he would be fun to have around. Although the jokes may not be great he would try valiantly. I also could then use my Kermit the Frog impression everytime he came around and I think that would be fun.

C. James Montevideo. I have always like the name James as I could be a Jim or a Jimmy. I would also like to keep with the country capital theme and I think Uruguay's is very unique. It is also very fun to say. :)

We're taking bets that it is not a Merry Christmas in Red Sox nation...

Here are a few observations of the past few days...

* Being a Red Sox fan means that disappointment comes often. Johnny Damon signing with the Yankees makes us very upset. Not that he shouldn't go for the money, but to go to the Yankees just sucks. Sadly it is acceptable as a Red Sox fan to wish a torn hamstring or rotator cuff injury on someone. Maybe not career ending, but enough to make Johnny just an average leadoff hitter. :)

* VH-1 really does a good job with its "I Love the..." series. I was watching I love the 90's Part Deux series marathon yesterday and it is truly funny. Rachel Harris is probably the biggest gem on the show with Michael Ian Black coming a close second.

* It is a scary time living in Springfield. Finances are in the shitter and no one feels safe. If we had an efficient mass transit system like NYC we would be shut down for months. (NYC may be shut down for months too.) Hopefully someone will be able to save this city and rescue it as we move into the latter part of the decade.

* Kobe Bryant scored 62 points in only 3 quarters last night. Pretty amazing considering after those 3 quarters he had more points than the entire Dallas team. The sad thing is that if the Lakers expect to go anywhere in the playoffs he will have to do that repeatedly and I think he may score 85+ one night. Oh Zen Master Phil Jackson when did you change your coaching to just pass it to Kobe?

* There has really been some great family movies this fall. I strongly recommend going to see Harry Potter 4 and Chronicles of Narnia. They are worth every penny you spend.

* This has been blogged about probably a million times by now, but you need to see it faithful readers. Saturday Night Live has been on a downswing the last two years. I am here to say that they are making a slight comeback. Having Dane Cook on three weeks ago helped and this past week they had a skit that is hilarious. Download whatever you need to watch it. Even if you don't like rap this is funny. Dr. Dre would be proud. :)

* Happy Winter Solstice everyone!!! Enjoy the shortest daytime and longest nighttime of the year. Thanks to everyone that commented yesterday!. I will be doing a few more of those best/worst of's over the course of the next week. If you have any suggestions for them please e-mail or post a comment. Have a great day.

WTBT Top TV Shows of 2005...

Here is my list of the Top TV shows of 2005. I have watched each of these shows and think they are fantastic. I am sure you may think there were some better shows. List them in the comments section if you don't agree with mine.

10. Arrested Development - How can this show cancelled by Fox? NBC you would be smart to pick this show up.
9. The Office - Although many of my friends do not like this show I think it is hilarious. Each week Dwight Schrute makes me laugh out loud at least once.
8. Making the Band 3 - Diddy is a genius. Hot girls who can sing, dance and bring the drama!!! You go girls.
7. CSI: Miami - This show does a great job of keeping storylines going. I cannot wait to find out what will happen with Horatio's nemesis.
6. My Name is Earl - Jason Lee is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Week in and week out this show is not only funny, but usually touching.
5. How I Met Your Mother - Due to bad timing I have only watched 3 episodes, but they were wonderful. What a great concept and the fact that Doogie Howser is making a comeback is awesome.
4. Grey's Anatomy - This show came out of no where to take over as the top medical show. It is everything ER isn't.
3. CSI - America's #1 show outdid itself in the season finale in May and I don't think that storyline is done quite yet.
2. 24 - The only bad thing about the show is you have to wait 6 months to see it. I cannot wait for the return of Jack Bauer.
1. LOST - The most addicting show on television. What the hell is going on? Well no one really knows, but it is fun to guess.

Honorable Mention: Scrubs, Survivor: Guatemala, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway, Deadwood, The Shield, Battlestar Galactica and King of Queens

WTBT Volume Thirty...

We're taking bets that...

* this is the second least productive work week this year in the US.
* next week will be the least productive work week in the US.
* the New England Patriots are peaking at just the right time.
* Banana Boy has now been peeled.
* you should donate some money, food or clothing locally because everyone seems to have forgotten that we need help not just in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
* King Kong was a fantastic movie, but the insects were just too much.
* a great Christmas present for a Red Sox fan would be a Johnny Damon signing.
* John Spencer's death may mean the end of the West Wing.
* you may think you have time, but you should see LeBron James play live before it is too late.
* GWB could be in for a rough three years after hearing last night's "Sorry we made some mistakes." speech last night.
* you didn't hear the one about the Polish guy on a bike.
* the 1972 Miami Dolphins are a little too protective of the only unbeaten season.
* Howard Stern will probably flop on Sirius Radio.
* creepy Phillip Seymour Hoffman makes you want to go see Mission Impossible 3.
* cheering can sometimes go a little too far.
* it is stories like these that make me wonder if scientists have too much time on their hands.
* Jessica Simpson filed for divorce for reasons of irreconcilable differences even though she has no idea what that means.
* you are not sure if Munich is going to be a good movie or not, but because of Spielberg you want to see it.

WTBT Worst Movies of 2005

Listed below are my picks for the worst movies of 2005. I thought they were so bad that I didn't even see all of them so I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure I am right. Tell me what you think.

10. Miss Congeniality 2 - Why would Sandra Bullock go back?
9. Man of the House - Oh Tommy Lee Jones how the mighty have fallen.
8. House of Wax - Even killing Paris Hilton couldn't make this worth watching.
7. Son of the Mask - Who signed the deal with the devil to make this movie?
6. The Honeymooners - To the moon Alice, which is where they should have sent every copy.
5. Guess Who - Bernie Mac who is not funny anymore and Mr. Demi Moore. No Way Jose.
4. The Devils Rejects - If the devil rejected them why should I want to watch?
3. Assault on Precinct 13 - Because Ethan Hawke's career really isn't over yet?
2. The Pacifier - Concept was killed when Hulk Hogan did Mr. Nanny.
1. Deuce Bigalow: European Giggolo - Please Rob stick to Adam Sandler movies where you suck.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Hottie Sophia Myles from Great Britain. She has a romantic movie coming out called Tristan & Isolde. (It is a period piece, so no one will probably see it, but she will look great in it. She is poised to become the next great English actress like Keira Knightly. I hope so.

We're taking bets that you love the movies...

It is Thursday Question time at WTBT!!! Please post your answers in the comments section. Remember you can be anonymous and you don't have to answer each question if you don't want to. Invite others to answer. Have a great day everyone.

A. What is the one movie that you could watch practically daily?

B. What would you like written on your gravestone?

C. What’s the dumbest purchase you’ve ever made?

Answers:

A. I probably could watch Caddyshack every single day of my life. It has some many funny things that just make me happy. Not often will you get some of the greatest comedians of all-time together in one movie when they were each at the top of their game. I think that most importantly Ted Knight was incredible. It's in the hole!!!

B. I would like to see. "Here Lies Gregory S. Madrid 19XX to 2090. He lived his live with a lot of love, plenty of passion and everything had a comedic twist."

C. My 2000 Daewoo Nubira. A what you may ask. It was the worst car company ever to come out of Korea. Although it looked pretty cool that was were the fun ended. I wasted more money on that car than I ever thought possible.

With the end of 2005 fast approaching I will be doing some of my Top Ten Favorite things about the year. Post in the comments sections items you think I should have included.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Hottie Aundrea Fimbres from Making the Band 2 & 3. She might not be the most gorgeous girl of the new group, but she definitely is my favorite. She has an incredible voice and I actually think people will like this band. Diddy has out done himself. I look forward to many years of oogling Aundrea. :)

We're taking bets that you gotta hate something...

It is Thursday Question time at WTBT!!! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week. Please post your answers in the comments section. Remember you can be anonymous and you don't have to answer each question if you don't want to. Invite others to answer. Have a great day everyone.

A. What do you think is more disgusting: Spitting in Public or Picking One's Nose in Public?

B. If you could have free, unlimited service for 5 years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose?

C. What musical act would you not pay 5 cents to see now, but you would have paid tons of money to see them when they were hot?

Answers:

A. I personally think picking one's nose is more digusting purely for the handshaking factor. You pick and then you do not immediately wash. I understand the need for the pick, but you can't hide it in public.

B. I would probably have the masseuse because properly massaged muscles make your whole body feel great. I think you would get spoiled though after the 5 years though.

C. I think that I would have loved to see Bobby Brown in his prime. With My Prerogative, Don't Be Cruel and Every Little Step he was awesome. Too bad Whitney effed it all up.

We're taking bets that you have a favorite Holiday Song...

10. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
9. The Twelve Pains at Christmas - Unknown
8. Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney
7. Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid
6. All I Want for Christmas - Mariah Carey
5. Silver Bells - Bing Crosby
4. Jingle Bell Rock - Bobby Helms
3. The Chipmunk Christmas Song - Alvin and the Chipmunks
2. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - Gene Autry
1. White Christmas - Bing Crosby

We're taking bets that sunbathing nude is fun unless pictures are taken...

Here are a few random observations...

* Jennifer Aniston's lawyers are all mad about potentially nude sunbathing photos that were taken of her. I know that she was in the privacy of her own yard, but are you telling me she didn't know paparazzi might be around. Would it be different if it was a teenager with a camera phone that took the pictures? I think Jennifer is wonderful, but to be honest her breasts are not that impressive. Angelina Jolie on the other hand. Oops would that make their feud even worse? :)

* The Seattle Seahawks and the New York Giants are going to be exposed as frauds once playoff time rolls around. Neither team is going to be able to beat the Carolina Panthers or the Atlanta Falcons. Eli Manning is going to be great, perhaps even better than Peyton, but this is not his year. It also creeps me out when Matt Hasselback takes off his helmet. The guy looks like he is 50 years old with out it on.

* VH1's Big in '05 was real cheesy. The fact they gave Jessica Simpson a fashion award over Gwen Stefani and Eva Longoria is pretty ridiculous. Could it be maybe that they wanted to get her on TV so quickly after her separation from Nick Lachey was announced? Very poor decision on their part. Leave the poor attention wanting woman alone.

We're taking bets that you wish you could be fierce...

The Runaway takes center stage this week. UPN's America's Next Top Model's with crazy Tyra Banks, season finale is on Wednesday at 8 pm. Bravo's Project Runway with slightly off Heidi Klum starts a new season at 10 pm on Wednesday. Finally Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is on CBS on Tuesday night at 10 pm.

I know that this may be supermodel overload, but each of these shows will be very entertaining in their own right. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will just be an opportunity for guys eye to fly out of their sockets. I am particularly looking forward to seeing Giselle Bundchen who I think is the hottest model of them all. Plus she is single now that Leo DiCaprio and her split up. If you have not watched America's Next Top Model you have not seen the hilarity that ensues when beautiful women get competitive. They steal food and try to destroy each other's lives. It really is gripping television. Lastly you have Project Runway where designers compete to become the next Calvin Klein or Donna Karan. When you mix gay and straight people in the cattiness of high fashion fun will definitely be had by all. I hope that everyone is able to enjoy watching a world that 99.5 % of us can never live in. :)

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Hottie Steph LaGrossa from Survivor has taken the title of hottest Survivor contestant. She is a fantastic competitor and looks hot doing it. Steph even has a little mean, conniving streak that increases her hottness. I look forward to seeing her in the final two and winning the million dollars.

We're taking bets that you are thirsty...

It is Thursday Question time at WTBT!!! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful start to the holiday season. Please post your answers in the comments section. Remember you can be anonymous and you don't have to answer each question if you don't want to. Invite others to answer. Have a great day everyone.

A. What is your favorite carbonated drink? Even if you don't drink carbonated drinks often you must have a favorite.

B. What is a better "p" word penultimate, poppycock, panache or plethora?

C. Would you rather talk like Yoda or breath like Darth Vader for the rest of your life?

Answers:

A. I think that after much deliberation Cream Soda is my favorite carbonated drink. It is just so yummy. I will always choose it if it is an option when I am drinking soda.

B. I love the word poppycock, but I don't use it as much as I use plethora. It is such a helpful word and get the point across when I think there is a lot of items.

C. I think that I would rather breath like Darth Vader because talking like Yoda can definitely be annoying. Although he is very insightful most of the time people wouldn't understand what the heck I was saying.
