We're taking bets that this is reason #187 why I like Geno Aureimma..

Geno Aureimma, coach of the UConn Huskies women's basketball team, is absolutely amazing. He is a talented coach, but he is also hysterical. Watch his phone conversation with Barack Obama during his press conference.

Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.

WTBT Favorite Songs of 2010...

Here are my list of favorite songs for 2010. They had to be released in 2010 to count.

20. Teenage Dream by Katy Perry - Although Glee's cover might have been better I really liked this song and appreciate its simplicity.
19. We R Who We R by Ke$ha - She might not be the most talented singer, but she continually makes fun music.
18. The Mystery Zone by Spoon - I think they are one of the best bands no one ever talks about.
17. Not Afraid by Eminem - This was a return to greatness and I love the line about treating the world like his children and raising it. Powerful.
16. Nothing on You by B.o.B. w/ Bruno Mars - Really cool song about the woman who no one can compare to.
15. Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce - I think the video makes this song even better.
14. White Sky by Vampire Weekend - How can you not like this quirky band that makes fun music?
13. Dancing on my Own by Robyn - She really puts out some great music and most people don't even know she exists.
12. King of Anything by Sara Bareilles - I saw her do this live and it was amazing.
11. When Love is Dying by Elton John and Leon Russell - It is very different from everything else Elton John has ever done and I love it.
10. The Catalyst by Linkin Park - This song absolutely rocks. It is a great anthem for people get out and do something with their lives and get out from under our past sins.
9. Airplanes Part 2 by B.o.B. w/ Hayley Mills and Eminem - I truly believe that this version should be the one that got all of the radio play. Amazing lyrics with a great Eminem rap.

2. Raise Your Glass by P!nk - She just does not put out bad music. "If your too School for Cool" is just a genius line.
1. F@ck You! by Cee-Lo Green - He took and incredible sound and put awesome lyrics to it. Every time I hear this song I just have to smile.

We're taking bets that I can rant...

Here are a couple of musings/rants...

* It is amazing how one conversation can change you view on an issue. Sometimes we forget how important people are in our lives and it all gets brought back in a five minute conversation. Don't forget the people you see everyday, but are not your best friends. You probably have amazing conversations that impact your life so much, but you don't really know it.

* Brett Favre deserves to start for the Vikings and should be their quarterback for the rest of the year. They are not going to move forward with their other QBs, so let him play. You have a chance for one more miracle play that only Brett Favre can deliver. Now if he tries to comeback next year I say we give him the Tonya Harding treatment, but let him play this year.

* I am so glad Committed won The Sing-off. They were awesome from start to finish. It is one of the first times I feel the audience truly got it right. Good job.

WTBT Volume 7 Series 2010...

We're taking bets that...

* it is sad that football season is starting to end.
* Julie Warner is an underrated cute actress as witnessed by Doc Hollywood and Tommy Boy.
* watching Unwrapped on the Food Network really makes you hungry.
* the UConn Women's Basketball team is amazing even though they aren't as impressive as UCLA in their heyday.
* Joe Biden is quite the soundbite and I think he makes Barack much more impressive.
* waiting for a snowstorm that does not show up is very disappointing.
* not getting a job is no big deal, but finding out via a secretary or HR webpage is disappointing.
* not getting a job is becoming a big deal, but not yet.
* Lonely Island's "I just had sex" with Akon is "I'm on a boat" worthy.
* most teams can't execute a proper on-side kick.
* it is weird that this blog doesn't show up in Facebook when I post it.
* you don't want to get in a fight with a guy with a samuri sword.
* New York has become the world capital of teams that choke.
* New York fans are going to be whiny about my last statement.
* most Christmas commercial are kind of stupid and don't make me want to buy their products.
* no one really has enough money to buy the even the enormous bow for the Audi they bought their wife.
* you are glad old people trust Wilfred Brimley.
* it is amazing that I am 3-0 in my College Bowl pool so far. I never start with a win nevermind 3 in a row.
* Tron:Legacy was a very fun movie and you should see it, but only in 3D.

WTBT Favorite TV Shows of 2010...

Here is my list of my favorite shows that aired in 2010. They may not still be on, but they were on in 2010. I hope you like my list and remember I do not have HBO or Showtime.

18. 30 Rock - I know it is funny, but I just don't like it every single week.
17. CSI Miami - The show still has some cool story lines although Horatio is starting to grate on me.
16. Top Chef - They probably have the best all-stars show ever. It is amazing how they keep me riveted and hungry ever single week.
15. CSI - I still love the original show. Laurence Fishburne has made a good transition from movies and his daughter's pornography.
14. Rubicon - Sadly this show was cancelled after one season, but it was very intelligent and was teeming with conspiracies.
13. Detroit 1-8-7 - Michael Imperioli is one of the greatest actors and I like all of the characters and the mysteries on the show.
12. House - Huddy is a little weird, but the addition of Amber Tamblyn has really kept the other actors on their toes.
11. NCIS - Consistently good show with many funny parts intertwined with good story lines.
10. Project Runway ~ Mondo really made this last season and was the main reason to watch.
9. Amazing Race ~ The adventures these people go on are really incredible. I love it every season. Though the Fall is tough with football screwing up the TiVo.
8. Community ~ This might be the most underrated comedy on TV. The paintball episode last season was awesome.
7. The Office ~ Starting to get really funny again just as Michael leaves.
6. Sanctuary ~ A real fun sci-fi show that has fun individual shows that weave into the main plotline.
5. How I Met Your Mother ~ If we do not meet the mother soon I may have to turn my back on this show. But it is so damn funny.
4. Chuck ~ This show continues to get better and I hope that more people watch it.
3a. Big Bang Theory ~ Just when I thought it was getting kind of old they brought the funny back. Jim Parsons is truly a master in his role as Sheldon.
3. Glee ~ I can't believe I almost left this off the list. The bullying storyline and the cameo of Mrs. Chris Martin have made this a great show.
2. LOST ~ Great Ending for a great show. I hope I get to go to heaven with my friends.
1. Modern Family ~ Laugh out loud funny every single week. There might not be a better show on TV.

I have to admit I have watched a lot less TV this year. I haven't gotten into The Event though they are all TiVo'd for a snow day. I didn't watch MadMen from the beginning so I haven't watched it.

WTBT Favorite Movies of 2010...

It is time for me to give you my favorite 21 movies of 2010. Now these are only movies I have seen up to today, so I may not be an Oscar predictor.

21. Prince of Persia - Surprisingly fun action movie. It met all my criteria for a fun fantasy movie.
20. Iron Man 2 - A good movie, but no where as good as the first.
19. Alice in Wonderland - Tim Burton and Johnny Depp again work their magic.
18. How to Train Your Dragon - A fun movie that was no where near Kung FU Panda, but entertaining none the less.
17. The Book of Eli - If you haven't seen this I won't ruin the twist, but it was another notch in Denzel's impressive belt of great movies.
16. Date Night - It made me laugh and you can't go wrong with Steve Carell and Tina Fey.
15. Dinner for Schmucks - It didn't do that well, but I laughed out loud at least 4 times. That to me is a great comedy.
14. When in Rome - I am a Josh Duhamel fan. Throw in cutie Kristin Bell and I am hooked.
13. Kick-Ass - Chloe Moretz is going to be bigger than Justin Bieber and Dakota Fanning.
12. Babies - A really interesting documentary of the first year of 4 different babies from very different parts of the world.
11. Morning Glory - I love Rachel McAdams and this movie was much funnier than I thought it was g oing to be.
10. It's Kind of a Funny Story - Zach Galifinakis really hit it out of the park in this movie and I believe that Emma Roberts might be the second coming of her aunt.
9. Let Me In - This movie scared the crap out of me and this is why I don't go see horror type movies, but it was actually quite amazing. If I was employed I never would have seen this movie.
8. Despicable Me - My second favorite cartoon of the year. It's so FUZZY!!!
7. The Town - Ben Affleck is a damn good director.
6. Easy A - This brought me back to the John Hughes comedies of the 80's. I think everyone who loved those movies should see this one.
5. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - What a comic book movie should be like. It really was a very cool movie.
4. Social Network - The movie about Facebook really was interesting. It is amazing how much genius, arrogance and backstabbing go into a great idea coming to fruition.
3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - I cannot wait for the next movie. They have really captured this book and it is only going to get better.
2. Toy Story 3 - The tears I cried at the end of the movie only proved how great a story it is. They really crushed it and I am glad that Pixar has coming into movie goers lives.
1. Inception - From beginning to end it sent me on a mind trip. I am really starting to like Leo and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most underrated actors of our generation.

Movies that I need to see to complete this year: The Kids are Alright, True Grit, Tron: Legacy, The Fighter, Waiting for Superman, The King's Speech, Unstoppable, Get him to the Greek and

WTBT Volume 6 Series 2010

We're taking bets that...

* I didn't know if I had two days in a row in me.
* most men didn't know cleaning woman's clothes really takes a lot of time and patience with the reading of a lot of instructions.
* it is fun when the Knicks are relevant again, although not good enough to win anything.
* sometimes it pays to be hot than open a window.
* Julian Assange is a creepy dude regardless of whether he is guilty of sex charges or not.
* we are going to get close to $4 a gallon for gas again. Ugh.
* the UConn Husky football team will at least be competitive for the first three quarters in the Fiesta Bowl.
* you still can't believe UConn is in the Fiesta Bowl.
* The Fighter will be an excellent movie that will highlight a hidden gem in Lowell, MA.
* when you hear the words "Mariah Carey" and "twins" you don't think about babies.
* it is kind of sick that the photo of the dead guy in this article looks like a happy Santa.
* Paul Pierce is one of the most exciting/arrogant players in the NBA.
* I think Committed is going to win on Sing-off.

We're taking bets that I need a creative outlet...

Here are a few of my musings and rants...

* No matter how much money was left on the table in both deals I think that Cliff Lee made the right decision and Lebron James made a smart decision, but handled it horribly. Cliff didn't owe anything to the Rangers because he was there for 3 months, but Lebron should have been more direct with Cleveland. Growing up in Akron and playing for seven years in Cleveland then announcing it on national tv in Connecticut. Please people could you stop comparing the two. It is not even close.

*It is silly when we think that leaving money on the table is a crazy thing when these guys already make $100 million. How can they spend that much money? What type of lifestyles do they have? Athletes do have short careers, but I will be lucky to make 3 million over the course of my 50 year career. Even if Cliff Lee put $3 million in the bank at an interest rate of 1.5% compounded annually he will make more than $3.2 million just in interest. Maybe something needs to be done to figure out how to lower salaries to more normal levels and reduce ticket prices. I know this will never happen, but I can dream.

* It is tough staying strong for others when all you want to do is stay in bed. I cannot explain the feeling of worthlessness. While I appreciate all of the support people give it doesn't really help anymore. I get it, but until I have a real job being good or talented at something really doesn't mean shit. I am working very hard to stay positive, but I am envisioning being in a new field and/or working far away from the one person that has made this livable. It is very annoying that some people feel I need to be dealt with kid gloves too. I understand my circumstances and I don't need people to be worried about how I am going to react to questions that people legitimately have about me. Trust me I understand you care about my feelings, but it just isn't open, honest or direct so stop. I just needed to say this because I usually keep most things hidden, but it feels better getting it off my chest.

* One of the classiest people in baseball died yesterday. Bob Feller. He proudly volunteered to serve his country at the age of 23. How many athletes today would even fathom doing that? He probably would have easily won 320 games and struck out 3,700 batters if he played. Bob never had a problem speaking his mind and these are two of my favorite quotes:

"I would rather beat the Yankees regularly than pitch a no hitter."
"I'm no hero. Heroes don't come back. Survivors return home. Heroes never come home. If anyone thinks I'm a hero, I'm not."

* I was a Lakers fan for many years. Then they got Kobe, he sexually assaulted some girl and then ran Shaq out of town. I decided I was going to go with the enemy until he left the purple and gold. I became a Celtics fan. I wasn't that worried because they stunk and then Danny Ainge came back. He added KG and Ray Allen and I was hooked. I was actually excited when Paul Pierce hit the game winner tonight. I actually own a Celtics shirt. I feel this is so wrong, but sadly I am okay with it.

* I am going to blog more because I need it. No BS this time. GMad the blogger is back.

We're taking bets that you've been caught in a bad pose...

I feel bad for the girl to the right of the one in the middle in green. This picture is on the front page of Boston.com and she looks like that. Don't you hope for your moment of fame to have you at least looking decent. Not creepy with your eyes closed. It's a shame because she probably doesn't even know. :)

WTBT Volume 4 Series 2010...

We're taking bets that...

* Tosh.O might be one of the funniest shows on TV.
* if you have seen the V-Reader Commercial where Buzz and Woody open the box; it looks like Andy is having his way with himself. Please check it out; click on the TV commercial on the bottom.
* UCONN is going to beat Michigan tomorrow.
* Hurricane Earl was a little disappointing for the Northeast, but at least it added some excitement.
* I think that Easy A is going to be an enjoyable teen movie.
* it is tiring thinking about all the energy idiots spend on things like protesting a Muslim center near Ground Zero.
* reading a book is still exciting to me, but I do like the I-Pad.
* I am not getting an cell phone.
* you cannot wait until Modern Family and Big Bang Theory come back with new episodes.
* creativity is still out there and I am glad that Lady Gaga is playing in Iowa.
* the Red Sox probably won't make the playoffs, but they did a job considering all of their injuries.
* you are so glad college football season is finally here.
* putting a pipe in your luggage will cause problems at the airport.

We're taking bets you can't please angry people...

Everyone that really knows me understands the fact that I am a pretty happy go lucky person. I don't get angry too often, while at the same time tell people exactly how I feel. If you don't want an honest opinion you don't want my opinion. That is who I am.

I went out to get some fresh vegetables from a farm in Branford (Rose's Orchard Farm Market) while getting a frozen custard as a treat for myself. Now I don't currently have a ton of money so this $10 trip was nice to do and it gets me out of the house. I got to the farm and got my tomatos and peppers that I am going to use to make a whole wheat grilled pizza. I was very excited. I then ventured over to the frozen custard counter. (Frozen custard is like soft serve but a million times better.)

Walking in front of me was a short older man in a white tank top and a trucker hat. I really wouldn't have noticed, but he was already complaining to his wife. As we got to the counter there was no one inside. This happens often because the workers shift back an forth from the farm stand part to the frozen custard part. (They are connected.) The guy starts complaining that there is no one there. Now he has waited all of 5 seconds. He keeps looking in and trying to decide what to do. He starts to go toward the farm stand part which has a huge open garage door, but he decides to use the locked glass door. This makes him even more upset. Meanwhile the girl came into the frozen custard room. I let him get back in front of me and he ordered. I could see that he was annoyed with how his cone turned out, but he didn't say anything. She returned with his second item and told him the total. The girl goes to give him back his change and he tells her to put it on the counter. He then says is that it. She said oops and because she forgot to give him his 50 cents. She says sorry and takes my order. He then turns to me and says, "You better watch out or they will take a tip with your change. They try to steal from you." Now I don't think this girl was trying to steal and I think he is just an angry little man. So I tell him, "You're a pretty angry little guy aren't you?" I can see he is taken aback by my response and says, "You don't agree?" I respond that I don't agree and that he was angry the minute he got here and should just take his frozen custard and enjoy life. Well this makes him even angrier and he says, "Well I just say it like it is and I don't understand why you have to give me attitude." I respond by saying, "Look dude you talked to me and I don't like negative people so go home and be happier." We are now walking to our cars which are two apart from each other. I clearly know he doesn't want this to get physical because he is small and I would destroy him. (I really don't either because getting arrested would be detrimental to my life) I also know he wants to get the last word in. So he then throws in a "Well at least I'm not an asshole." Typical response from an angry person. Now I haven't said anything mean other than "Be happy." I decide to just drive away because I want to pull him out of his car beat him to a pulp and then explain to him that this is the consequence of being an angry person. I do decide to memorize him so that if I ever see him again I will remember and hopefully he will do something stupid in my presence so I can embarrass this asshole in front of the world.

I am sure there are going to be a ton of people who read this and think that I should have just kept my mouth shut, but I think we do that way too often. We are always worried about hurting others feelings when the truth needs to be told. True he could have had an awful tragedy happen to him right before frozen custard time, but that is his business and he included me. So I just say in the immortal words of Bobby McFerrin, "Don't Worry Be Happy!"

We're taking bets that I am troubled...

An awful tragedy happened 2 minutes from my childhood home yesterday. Eight men were killed by a man who also killed himself. The man was being fired for stealing from the company and he was caught on video. Everyone that knew him said he was a quiet and nice individual. He complained to his family and friends that his work environment was very racist. While that doesn't excuse any of his horrible actions I wonder how quickly are his families and his girlfriend's accusations going to be swept under the rug.

I grew up in that area and know that it is as racist as any other area except that because we are in the Northeast we act like we are better because we hide our racism better. I am sure racism was going on against this individual. I saw it all the time when I grew up, but I didn't understand it then. Unfortunately racism, sexism, and all other isms are around everyday. Look at all of the people protesting the reversal of Prop 8 in California and the venom of both sides.

This man handled the racism horribly wrong and stole which means most people are not going to give this a second look. Does it make a difference? Can this tragedy maybe let people look inside ourselves. People think we have progressed and are in a better place since the 60's but I wonder. I just think we have to keep looking at why we can keep breeding hate. We are all different, but ultimately we all want the same thing; to live a good life. Appreciate the differences around you because to ignore them or even worse hate them will be even more tragic than this incident.

We're taking bets that absence makes the heart grow fonder...

I am sorry I have been gone so long. I feel I have things to say again. Hopefully that is true.

I can't believe how talented Greyson Michael Chance. Thankfully he is talented or Greyson would be getting beaten up for a weird name. Watch the video and tell me what you think. I believe we have at the very least the next Justin Bieber and if anyone can beat him the world might be in trouble.

WTBT Volume 3 Series 2010...

We're taking bets that...

* it is really weird that Nancy Kerrigan is in the news again right before the Winter Olympics.
* Nancy Kerrigan has had the weirdest things happen to her.
* I have a feeling it is the Saints year.
* most people who say things are even usually haven't had the worst done to them.
* if you are not a good hunter then you should try shooting a cow.
* the cow's owner has quite a beef with those hunters.
* TD Bank SportsCenter at QU is going to start rocking if the Bobcats keep on winning in the NEC.
* you probably didn't know the Grammy's are on this Sunday on CBS.
* when the government tells you to keep on whacking you just have too.
* Brett Favre will never learn not to throw across your body to the other side of the field.
* unfortunately Haiti will still be recovering from this earthquake 10 years from now.
* job searching is no fun.
* if I had a cell phone this would happen to me. :)

We're taking bets that crazy takes many forms...

Here are a few random observations:

* American Idol is still interesting television. The producers do what they can to pull your heartstrings at the same time adding drama and silliness. You would think by this time we would all be sick of it but I keep coming back and so does the rest of America. I really do not think losing Paula or Simon will be the death of the show.

* I am not a supporter of new Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown, but I like him a lot more now that Glenn Beck doesn't like him. Glenn Beck is taking crazy to a whole new level. Intelligent crazy with a microphone is very scary. I think I could be fun as the opposite to him. Liberal, smart, crazy guy because I am also lovable. Oh the power. BTW - Keith Olbermann does not count as his liberal counterpart because he usually isn't smart just pompous.

* Everyone has their own interpretation of funny. I am pretty sure that I am more open than a lot of others. With that being said can someone explain to me why this is considered funny by some people. There are a lot of wild things on YouTube but this is not funny. I used to make tapes with my best friend Todd when I was little and if you listened to them today no one not even I would probably laugh. These videos are kind of like those tapes except you are letting the world see them. I think everything should have a funny or die meter and if more than 70% of the people who have watched it do not like the clip it should be removed permanently from the internet. I am just saying.

WTBT Volume 2 Series 2010...

We're taking bets that...

* Scott Brown might be better than most Democrats think.
* it sucks there is still 13 days until LOST is on.
* I triple dog dare you not to do what these kids did.
* Quinnipiac is going to be the place to be this Spring and many of you are going to miss it.
* Brian Williams is the most fun anchor ever to grace network TV.
* you probably missed Penguin Awareness day on Tuesday.
* this article has old Southerners reaching for their phones to call Billy Graham.
* most people are going to join a group regarding Haiti, but most people won't give a dime to help.
* even when I am right there is probably someone saying I am wrong.
* Carlton Fisk is a bad ass calling out Mark McGwire and Roger Clemens.
* you can't take any more images coming out of Haiti even if they are rescues.
* the tree did talk dirty to him.
* no matter what you do you can't please everyone with diversity.
* the best thing to watch regarding the Conan-Leno fiasco is Leno's 2004 announcement.
* Leno does look like an idiot now.
* it would be badass to have a scale of measurement named after you like the Madrid Scale measures awesomeness. :)
* my job search is kind of scaring me.

We're taking bet that they have gone missing...

Whatever happened to Ashley Williams? She was originally the hottie on Good Morning Miami, which was not a good show, but she was very cute. She then was highered to be Ted's love interest as a baker in How I Met Your Mother. She was awesome on the show and very cute again. I would like her to make a comeback and I do think she would be awesome as the woman Ted finally ended up with. I just think she should be part of our weekly television lives and hope she finds the right vehicle to shoot to stardom!

We're taking bets that it is funny to see a skinny or fat version of a friend...

Here are a couple of random things:

* Being a fat guy I feel like there is probably a skinny version of me somewhere in this world. Today I saw a fat version of a friend and it made laugh because although I knew it wasn't that person what if it was. When people you haven't seen in a while change dramatically it is both unsettling and funny.

* Chris Dodd was a great Senator for Connecticut regardless of his party affiliation and he will be missed by the entire state. I do think that Richard Blumenthal is going to run away with the election. Who doesn't like that guy? Besides Republicans?

* Bringing Jay Leno back to 11:35 will be a huge mistake and probably ruin Conan. Jay is the entertainment version of Brett Favre and we all know how annoying he is. The thing is I don't think he will get the results Brett has with Minnesota. The sad thing is Conan is doing a good job and will probably hit his stride in another 6 to 8 months. NBC you used to be my favorite station, but now you are killing me and yourself.

WTBT Volume 1 Series 2010...

We're taking bets that...

* sometimes you just can't win and it doesn't even pay to try.
* the Patriots will win this week, but then it will be a horrible defeat.
* you are tired of hearing about the exploits of Tiger Woods and his women.
* I still want to work for Diddy.
* this story is just funny.
* it is funny when you get told that you seem like you could be a professor in a college.
* I did it and now I wait.
* you are old if you remember "WHO'S THE HAWK?!?" and congrats to Andre Dawson.
* it is not shocking that KFC is being called racist for the ad in this article.
* the suspension of Gilbert Arenas is the smartest thing David Stern has done since he rigged the Patrick Ewing draft for the Knicks.
* LOST will be awesome and the fact that it returns on Groundhog Day makes me super excited.
* Rex Ryan is an idiot and I would tell him to his face, but I think he would try to beat me up.
* angry is an okay feeling and you should not tell people to calm down, but rather let them do and say whatever they want to feel better.
* stealing hair is a crime just ask bald people.
* it is good to be back writing my blog again. Hopefully people will start to read it.
* you are psyched Modern Family is back with a new episode tonight.

We're taking bets that sports journalists ask stupid questions...

This might be the best coaches answer ever. Stupid sports reporters.

* I cannot wait until Legion comes out in theaters in January.

We're taking bets that everyone is sad to see Lou go...

Captain Lou Albano died today. He was one of the greatest WWF managers ever. He also was a big star in Cyndi Lauper videos. Lou's death made the world a little bit less fun today. Sorry to see you go Lou.

WTBT Volume 9 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* sometimes I just can't.
* it was a bad week for me to stop blogging because there was a lot of stupid things this past week.
* there should be a national vote on whether doing something totally inappropriate during someone's speech should be called pulling a Kanye or doing a Joe Wilson.
* the funniest thing I heard was that it was "National Outburst Week". Big ups to Bryan.
* you have to just love "pole dancing doll".
* there are not too many things better than being at a walk-off win.
* I almost cannot stop laughing when I hear the Jets saying they are going to embarrass the Patriots this week.
* just because a woman was horribly killed at Yale does not mean New Haven is a bad city.
* this gives true meaning to "My Dad can beat up your Dad!!!"

We're taking bets that chipmunks are definitely hip-hop animals...

Okay I said I wasn't going to post, but this is hilarious. The Beat Boxing chipmunk almost made me pee laughing so hard.

We're taking bets that sometimes you have to go radio silent...

Hey followers of WTBT,

I am sorry I have been away, but I thought that it would be best to be radio silent for a little while so that my typed words could not be misinterpreted or something wrong could be said. It is a long explaination and maybe someday I will share. I will be back tomorrow with a couple of fun posts. I promise. Have a great day and I will talk to you all tomorrow.

* Martin Luther King Jr. said a lot of great things, but choosing the right one to put on a t-shirt is difficult.
* when the Earth gets hungry it will eat anything.
* Obama's speech to school children was actually pretty impressive and critics should be ashamed that they complained.
* if you want to find someone inspiring you should read about Muhammad Ali.
* wealthy people need to give more money to the poor if this is how they are going to waste their money.
* stonewalls are actually kind of cool.
* Tila Tequila and Shawn Merriman could have only ended in a crazy fight.
* it freaks you out to realize that she actually is only 1/6th his size.
* the Pittsburgh Pirates are not as bad as they used to be, but losing still fits them.
* you cannot figure out why when someone on a hallucinogen freaks out they always lose their pants.
* sometimes there is too much to do in a day, but at least you have tomorrow.
* you just have to love pickles.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Hottie Mila Kunis is in the new movie Extract this week and I think she needs a little recognition. She was fabolous in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and now she is tempting Jason Bateman. Although I want to dislike her because she drove me crazy as Jackie on That 70's Show I love her in movies. Hopefully she becomes a new romantic comedy lead.

We're taking bets that I give a Hout...

If you are into sports at all you have probably heard about LeGarrette Blount of the University of Oregon punching Bryon Hout. The clip is below if you missed it. After that he tried to fight some fans who were taunting him. Blount was suspended for the entire season for his actions and I believe rightfully so. What has not been talked about is the fact that Hout taunted him and deserves some punishment as well. I don't believe it should be as severe, but his actions led to the actions of another. If LeGarrette didn't go all Kiefer Sutherland on him it probably wouldn't have even been noticed.

Here is how I view Hout: He is clearly the guy that is always in the other teams face, saying stupid things and pissing everyone off. Then when the other team says something or pushes him he says, "What? I didn't do anything." or he fakes falling down. If he was on my team I would want to punch him in the face like LeGarrette did. There is no room in sports for sore winners or idiots after the game is over. Trash talking is one thing, but taunting is another. I hope that Boise State wises up and at least suspends Bryon a game suspension for his part in the incident.

* I bet most of you thought I spelled Hout wrong.

WTBT Volume 7 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* it seems like more people are smoking today than 5 years ago.
* I am so psyched my favorite housekeeper won the Quinnipiac University Center for Excellence Award!
* guys are not the only crazy sick people in this world.
* "ouch" is the only way to truly describe how that guy must have felt.
* no one is really that excited about the US Open.
* you are glad Michael Jackson will finally be put to rest.
* no matter how much Massachusetts loves Curt Schilling he will not win Kennedy's Senate seat if he runs.
* this might be the creepiest lady of all time.
* it stinks that the new tv season starts so late in September.
* if you are transporting heroin you probably should not run stop signs.
* Whitney Houston's new album is good, but she is still very scary.
* I am still sad that Tedy Bruschi is no longer going to be in a Patriots uniform.
* 911 is not a joke, but when you are drunk you might think it is a taxi service.
* for a guy who lives in Florida the NYC tattoo kid of seems stupid.
* I am hungry too, maybe I should call the police.

We're taking bets that sometimes true stories are the best stories...

Hey Everyone! Sorry I have not had the time to blog. Moving in 4,000 students in 5 days is tiring. I want to leave you with something awesome. The story of Michael Oher. You probably don't know him especially if you don't like football, but he has an incredible story. I will be there to watch this movie because I love inspiration and taking the opportunities we can to impact each others lives. Check out the trailer below. Tell me what you think.

We're taking bets that all men should read and watch this post...

I have to applaud Glamour magazine and hope that they do this more often. They had a picture in this month's issue of a plus-size model that is turning the women's magazine world on it's head. It is of a very beautiful woman who has a stomach. WHAT? Crazy talk. Someone that looks like most women in the world. (except for the fact that she is incredibly beautiful with a slamming smile.)

I know that there are so many guys who would skoff at the fact that she is a size 12 to 14, but I think there needs to be a readjustment. I may be heavy, but even with that fact I am treated better than women who might be heavy are. I just don't get it. I definitely can appreciate the Megan Fox's, Angelina Jolie's and Jennifer Aniston's of this world. I used to be completely in love with Rachel from Friends. That doesn't mean normal sized or plus size women are not beautiful, sexy and head turners. To be honest my favorite actress when I was a kid was Maureen O'Hare from Parent Trap, Miracle on 34th Street and Quiet Man. She was by no means a small woman, but she was incredibly beautiful.

Until we and by we I mean guys change our views and stop allowing the media to dictate what is beautiful we are going to have women with body issues. I think that women are the most incredible thing ever created and love that they come in all shapes and sizes. (Though I do have a problem with the crazy ones. :) I hope that Lizzi Miller and Glamour can inspire women to change how they are viewed and get guys to understand that beauty comes in many sizes.

We're taking bets that sleep is overrated...

Some thoughts:

* I am functioning on very little sleep and think I am performing at a very high level. While I would love more sleep this is the way it is going to be. Maybe it is because I love what I am doing, but I will sleep plenty when I am dead. :)

* You should wait to rub in something to a rival. Nothing else to say about that, but it is the truth.

* I will be out tomorrow at camp. No Blog. Sorry.

* The weather has been freaky lately and the weather people haven't a clue as to what is going to happen. You have to love New England. At least summer is finally here.

* Working with college students is probably one of the top ten greatest things you can do with your life. Especially my staff of 11 RAs who might be the best RAs I have ever had as a unit in an upperclassmen area at QU. :)

WTBT Volume 6 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* the whooping the Sox are taking currently seems very reminiscent of 2004.
* I am just saying.
* it is hard to not sing when Use Somebody by Kings of Leon comes on the radio.
* I hope Brett Favre has an awful season for the Vikings.
* you can't believe that Hawaii is only in it's 50th year as a state.
* Hawaii is such a mature state for it's age.
* you are really excited to join CLUCK!!!
* the Little League World Series is truly quality baseball.
* making a mistake thirteen times just seems like way too much.
* James Cameron's Avatar trailer looks unbelievable and very eerie all at the same time.
* I could probably invent a better pool toy than the foam noodle.
* you have no idea what the foam noodle is for other than hitting other people.
* sometimes badgers do not even have a chance at survival.
* badgers love Spencer Gifts.
* there is nothing worse than depression except deep depression.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week

While I know some people hate this feature I enjoy it so it is back. :)
Hottie Colbie Caillat has a new CD coming out on Tuesday and it is great. She is quite a cutie. Colbie is your next door neighbor type girl who seems like she would be fun to hang out with. As always I absolutely love her smile. I hope you like her too.

We're taking bets that sometimes it is okay to answer questions with a question especially when dealing with aliens...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do not completely support President Obama with his Health Plan because I think it does not do enough, but at least I know he is trying. With that being said anyone comparing Obama to a Nazi gets whatever is coming to them. Crazy Barney Frank from good old Massachusetts had to confront one of these wackos at a Town Hall meeting in Dartmouth, MA. Watch what he does. I absolutely love it. You have to be direct and just tell things like they are. She actually called a Jew a Nazi supporter. That is as crazy as calling the sun a lollipop and the clouds pickles. Only wackos can do things like that. What I don't get is why the wackos(Lou Dobbs) are always getting on TV. You can disagree with the president. You don't even have to them as a person, but there is a limit to what we should say to the people around us about others. Just saying something shocking does not get your point across it just makes you look foolish and stupid!!!

We're taking bets that Lance Armstrong still has some pull

Did you hear what Lance Armstrong did in Scotland? I would be lucky to get my best friend to come if I gave him a direct invite and he probably owes me one. (Actually I probably owe him.) It is amazing to me the power of the technology today. Granted I still don't have a cell phone, but I still get by and I understand most technology better than people with cell phones. Everyone is now a little bit international. I mean a bike ride with Lance Armstrong is cool on so many levels as long as he isn't racing you. Then you are pretty much done.

People can say all they want about Lance doping, but I have a hard time believing it. The amount he has done to help find a cure for cancer and making it cool in the process is amazing. Everyone wants a little piece of him. Though I am glad the wristband craze has faded out. More celebrities need to be involved in causes as publically as Lance. He has completely put himself out there. Lots of them donate time, which is great, but to actually explain why you support said charity and inspire others is what all celebrities can do. Even Heidi and Spencer who are fake celebrities. I just wanted you all know that Lance Armstrong inspires me to do what I can. As he said in Dodgeball...

"Quit? You know, once I was thinking of quitting when I was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family, I got back on the bike and won the Tour de France 5 times in a row. But I'm sure you have a good reason to quit. So what are you dying of that's keeping you from the finals?... Well, I guess if a person never quit when the going got tough, they wouldn't anything to regret for the rest of their life. Well good luck to you!"

WTBT Volume 5 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* it is not fun out of the play-offs.
* sometimes you can be way too good at hiding.
* Hurricane season is here and it is going to be a good one.
* if you don't love the Little League World Series something is seriously wrong with you.
* I am shocked no one commented about my dissing of Dane Cook.
* Tiger is just not the same golfer he was before his injury.
* the biggest cupcake will probably not be the most moist cupcake.
* it is very weird how much women hate the word moist.
* it is almost as bad as Can't Understand Nothing Today.
* speaking of moist you should check out the moist towelette Museum.
* David Wright getting beaned was very scary.
* the world is backwards when a two year old cat can get a high school diploma and it takes me forever to get my master's degree.
* sometimes it is hard to decide which is the best risk to take.
* otters hate France; Brigitte France.
* it kind of makes me happy to hear Michael Vick cried in prison.
* I really am a nice guy, but every once in a while there is a little bit of mean in me.
* tax-free week in CT is super cool.
* people who dislike the word moist should really boycott Duncan Hines because they really embrace it.
* I bet you didn't think I was going to use moist again in this post.
* most of this blog is just to make me laugh.
* Top Chef and Project Runway premieres should make this a good week to watch TV again.
* it is very weird when on a Monday morning at 8:40ish there was a line at the liquor store and no one in Dunkin Donuts.

Sunday, August 16, 2009

We're taking bets that I am probably right and you are probably wrong...

Here are a few observations that I have made over the last few days.

* Some people are too sensitive for their own good. It must be debilitating to react like a crazy person to everything people say or do around you. You should not be bringing stress into my life. I know that I am too laid back, but that doesn't mean I am looking for the worry train to come my way. Remember most of the time it is not about you. We are all really too self-centered to be talking or acting for your benefit. Of course I know many of you think I am talking about you, but I am not. I am talking about other people with at least one person you don't know in mind.

* I am not always proud being a male when I go out with my friends. Overall guys are creepers and I am sorry women have to put up with it. I am a watcher when I go out. (Sounds intrusive I know, but more of a watcher of what happens not a stalker making people uncomfortable.) It is weird watching guys "accidentally" rub up against a woman or grab a girl and make her talk to them. It makes things harder for the nice guy who takes a 1/2 hour to go up to a girl to even say hi and walk away. Most women are already on the defense because of you creepers. Do me a favor... make eye contact first then go up to the person and dance. Don't be sneaky or touchy.

* When you are in a supermarket (Big Y, Stop & Shop) please do not block the whole aisle. It is wide enough for the both of us. (Even a big guy like me) When you see me coming (and I know you see me) get out of the way. We should not have to put lights on the carts so I can flash you to get out of the way. I am not going high speed down the aisle. Well at least when there are people in the aisle. It is frustrating because the worst part is you look at me like I am inconveniencing you for even saying "Excuse Me". I have decided that I am going to wait for you to get in line and then get behind you and hit you in the back of the ankle with my cart. Then I will say, "Sorry I didn't see you there because I am a jerk like you." I also may put a few items on the belt that you didn't select to see what happens. It may annoy you, but you deserve it and it will make me much happier on my ride home.

WTBT Volume 4 Series 2009

We're taking bets that...

* it is good to be back.
* the Red Sox comeback last night might be the start of something special.
* Damon Weaver rocks and might be better than Katie at interviewing.
* sometimes the end is not the end.
* Kevin Hart is freaking hilarious and you should check out his comedy special "I am a Grown Little Man."
* older people are weird when it comes to going to the park.
* race is probably the issue with that park.
* it was great seeing Tom Brady play football again.
* cinnamon does not plump up your lips.
* stupidity comes in all sizes and usually it is somewhere in an active tornado area.
* you should be excited that the EPL has started.
* most of you are trying to figure out what the EPL is.
* it might just be me, but Mariah Carey breast still keep getting bigger with each album she puts out.
* everyone being a winner or getting a prize has gone too far.
* when you see eye to eye with someone on an issue it is no one else's business.
* you need to check out the trailer for the movie Legion. It's going to be badass.
* Dane Cook might not be funny anymore.
* Jon needs to be punched in his face a lot and Kate needs a hair cut.
* if I had known I would of found a guy to do this with today because I support gay marriage.
* 7+ hours in a classroom is way too long.
* Austrians have really big mailboxes.
* it is probably because their postcards are the size of poster board and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

We're taking bets you can't wait for August 15th

I know no one is reading this, but I will be back soon.

We're taking bets that Ikea is a big fire hazard...

I spent a little time in Ikea New Haven this weekend.  I have decided that if you need to get out of there in a hurry you are screwed. If there was a fire you would die. No one knows how to navigate that store. I have only been in one Ikea, but I imagine everywhere is like that.  Most of the people are just there for the cheap food and to have a place for their kids to play for a couple of hours. You would think that the economy was thriving while I was there. While some of there furniture is a little cool it is way too complicated to put together correctly. They do have the best shopping carts ever though. Those Swedes are definitely an interesting bunch and I truly believe they really just want to kill us all with their store designs. Are you a fan of Ikea?

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Salma Hayek just got married to some French guy. Granted he was her son's father, but he is just some French guy. I fell in love with her during the movie Fools Rush In with Matthew Perry. She has been awesome on 30 Rock as a guest recently. I thought I would pay some tribute to her. Remember it is very hard to find good pictures of Salma without her biggest assets.

WTBT Volume 3 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* American Idol has been pretty boring this year.
* Joaquin Phoenix is getting more bizarre every public appearence he makes.
* UCONN/UNC will be the championship games in both men's and women's basketball.
* Blagojevich keeps digging himself into a bigger hole.
* A-Rod should now be nicknamed A-Fraud.
* it is nice to bond with your children, but letting your 8 year old drive seems wrong.
* Chris Brown better "Run It" from jail because he is going to be someone's bitch for what he did to Rihanna.
* I think he was pissed at her because she could not stop the music.
* this is a great story of heroism and uniting people.
* sometimes you just need to joke to make things seem better.
* LOST has been excellent and if you don't watch you are missing out on some of the best television ever.

We're taking bets that you don't like Alex Rodriguez...

So Alex Rodriguez has admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs from 2001 to 2003. I am going to add that to the list of why I can't stand him. The Sox had the Curse of the Bambino, but now the Yankees are going to have the Curse of A-Rod. He is not a good teammate and he gets paid way too much money to be a steroid taking baseball player. I don't even care if he is a Yankee. Most Yankee fans can't stand him either. His apology seemed a little hollow and I don't believe that it was only his Texas years that he doped. Below is his response to his interview with Peter Gammons. I wonder what you all think?

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Hottie Carrie Underwood was looking awesome at the Grammy's. She is definitely the sexiest vegetarian I have ever seen. Plus she's got some great pipes.

We're taking bets that people love facebook and it is getting annoying...

So very early I made a decision that I was not going to participate in the 25 things about me Facebook stuff.  Mainly because I am not a huge sharer, but secondly because most people don't care and it usually is not interesting.  Over the last few weeks we have been innundated with "you've been tagged" and these dumb things. I must admit that I do read my close friends because I am curious what they say and want to see if I will really learn anything new.  Most of the stuff is just weird and 99% of the people put in the opening line they were never going to do this, but guess what you did.

Time magazine had a great article called "25 Things I Don't Want To Know About You".  It is kind of funny and worth a read.  Overall Facebook is great. I was a very early member and take pride that I knew about it before a gazillion others.  The only problem I have is that now that people over 30 have it they get addicted to the weird little things. Like my mother and forwards in the end of 90's and the early part of the decade. These things are never ending.  Please make them stop.

WTBT Volume 2 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* if you already have six kids you don't use fertility drugs to have eight more.
* you have to congratulate Pat Summitt for winning 1,000 game with Tennessee.
* I still don't have to like her or the Lady Volunteers.
* only NYC could search for the mysteriously great smell of syrup.
* Michael Phelps deserves all of the bad press he is getting and just because he is 23 years old doesn't give him carte blanc to do something stupid.
* Jon Stewart really doesn't give Barack Obama much slack like many people thought he would.
* butterflies are beautiful, but kind of like some beautiful women I know they are conniving too.
* most people don't even realize my blog is back.

We're taking bets that this is why I am a fan of Dane Cook...

He is really funny and he does comedy for his fans. I hope his new material is not all about sex though.

WTBT Volume 1 Series 2009...

We're taking bets that...

* the Super Bowl commercials were a little better than in recent years.
* UCONN will be national champions in men's and women's basketball this year.
* The Office Super Bowl episodes had its moments, but it was a little overrated.
* Big Bang Theory is easily the funniest show on TV.
* be careful when a guy has pigeons in his pants.
* Manny Rameriz is an idiot for not taking the Dodgers $25 million offer.
* Bikini Girl is going to be the best story for American Idol in the next week.
* it stinks when you use your education for evil.
* it is definitely refreshing to hear the President of the United States say he made a mistake.
* the best catch in the Super Bowl is still Lynn Swann's falling down and catching his own tip.

We're taking bets that you are not this good...

The pilot who landed the plane in the Hudson River, Chelsey Sullenberger, might be the most responsible person in America.  One of the books he loaned out from the library was on that plane. He asked the library for an extension to pay his fines.  Uh Dude your plane CRASHED I think we can give you a pass on this one.  The library did the right thing by waving his fines.  Get this though. The title of the book... PROFESSIONAL ETHICS! You cannot make this stuff up with a pen and paper.  Crazy.  In this crazy economy it makes feel good that there are people who do the right thing even if they don't have to.

WTBT Volume 44 Series 2008...

We're taking bets that...

* if you haven't said Happy Hanakkuh to your Jewish friends you are already late.

We're taking bets that Christmas just won't be the same...

I am off to South Carolina today to spend Christmas with my parents and siblings.  It is just not going to be the same, but at least I will be with family. Keep checking the blog as I will be updating everyday. Not much else to do. :)

We're taking bets that TV is good again...

It is time for my Top Twenty TV shows of 2008. They have changed quite a bit from 2007 and 2006.
Hopefully at some point 24 will actually make it back to the list. I just hope there is not another strike.

Honorable Mention: Deadliest Catch; America's Toughest Jobs; Fringe; Scrubs, Friday Night Lights, SNL, Life on Mars, 24: Redemption

20. Pushing Daisies - It had a rough return from the strike, but had really come into its own and I hope somehow it can be saved.
19. Eli Stone - ABC could you please stop putting on shows that I enjoy with characters that I like and then not give them enough time to grow. You kept According to Jim on for years!!!
18. My Name is Earl - Still a great show that has some of the best laugh out loud moments.
17. Battlestar Galactica - I cannot wait for the last few episodes. What happened to Earth?
16. Heroes - It really has lost something. I still enjoy it, but I really hope that it can make a comeback with this next chapter.
15. CSI - Still compelling television, but losing Warrick and Grissom will be really tough. Laurence Fisherburne might be okay.
14. CSI Miami - Horatio isn't dead because much like Chuck Norris nothing hurts Horatio Caine.
13. Top Chef - It just keeps getting better. I love Fab and the Rainbow group this year.
12. The Daily Show with John Stewart - Election coverage was super awesome. You cannot beat a John Stewart interview.
11. Sanctuary - This Sci-Fi show just keeps getting better. Last week's episode was incredible especially from a TV reporter point of view.
10. The Mentalist - Great new show with a lot of humor and good cases to solve. Plus Simon Baker is a looker. :)
9. House - #13 is just one of the great reasons to watch this always entertaining show. Miracle birth anyone?
8. NCIS - What a great show!!  It is so much fun and it starts each new scene in a really cool way.
7. 30 Rock - I know it is the Emmy winner, but it still isn't the funniest show on TV to me. Gotta love Kenneth though.
6. How I Met Your Mother - Who the hell is the mother? What is with the goat?  Consistently funny.
5. Life - This might be the best show people are not watching.  Who shot Crews? What is going on with Reese?  I think I am going to become a little zen.
4. The Office - Some weeks it is the best show on television.  Too much weird stuff with Angela and Dwight.  Can't Dwight just be himself every week?
3. Chuck - Nerdy spy with a super hot handler.  Fun situations every week and character that are really funny.
2. Big Bang Theory - If you are not watching this show you are wasting your Monday nights. It is absolutely hysterical every single week.
1. LOST - Holy Crap I cannot wait for this show to start again.  Going back to the island. Maybe back in time. How will they get there. What is going to happen? Who knows, but I will be there on January 21st!!!

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Year...

The Hottie of 2008 has talent and beauty all rolled into one. Rihanna!!! She was all over the place in 2008 and you cannot really doubt her beauty. Plus she spent some time with Chris Brown and he seems to know hot women. She is going to be on the radio forever.

WTBT Volume 43 Series 2008...

We're taking bets that...

* it is going to be pretty hard to top "doing a Blagojevich" as a bonehead move in 2009.
* you are glad the US is trying to protect some penguins from extinction.
* you should watch the following six holiday movies every year if you celebrate Christmas:
- Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
- Christmas Story
- The Year without a Santa Claus
- A Charlie Brown Christmas
- Frosty the Snowman
- Love Actually
* Mark Texiera would look great in a Red Sox uniform.
* more pilots should watch out for cows when landing.
* the cow didn't even know what hit her.
* only an idiot in the US names his son Adolf Hitler.
* uniqueness is nota good excuse.
* the Boston Celtics are not going to lose again until 2009.
* it is scary when you see a mother with a thicker mustache than her teenage son.
* Aretha Franklin will rock the house when she sings at Obama's inauguration.
* inauguration will be the most misspelled word in the next month.
