We're taking bets that some things linger...

Here are a few interesting and important things...

1. The worst part of a cold/allergies is the linger aftereffects. The stupid tickles in your throat or the remaining phlem is just disgusting and bothersome.

2. The Yankees have officially declared they are afraid of the Red Sox by not pitching Clemens on Sunday. Anyone who says different is wrong because he will have over 5 days rest. Why did you pay him $28 million pro-rated if not to pitch in pressure cookers like Fenway Park?

3. Baby geese are perhaps one of the cutest animals that I have ever seen. They are awkward and fuzzy. They also are a weird yellowish black that makes them look like a bumblebee a little. How can you beat that cuteness?

We're taking bets that...

* Marquise Hill's tragic death robbed New Orleans of a great hero.
* Miss Japan was a good choice for Miss Universe.
* Miss USA really needs to learn how to walk in an evening gown.
* the Red Sox are playing some pretty excellent baseball right now.
* Knocked Up will be the funniest movie of the summer.
* you thought Kevin Youkilis was going to need oxygen after his inside the park home run.
* Rosie may never speak to Elizabeth Hasselbeck again and no one cares.
* the NHL Finals will be 1000 times more exciting than the NBA.
* if any story needed a picture this one definitely did.
* there is nothing funnier than a women in a men's bathroom by accident.
* it will be another boring Spurs-Pistons finals for the NBA.
* asking to be kicked in the groin is a little odd.
* Roger Clemens should pitch against the Red Sox this week because that is what he is being paid $28 million to do.
* it is a shame Cindy Sheehan is giving up her anti-war efforts.

We're taking bets that the three dollar bill is going to miss him...

Charles Nelson Reilly died yesterday. He truly was one of the first openly gay Hollywood characters. Although he was a bit foolish and eccentric he was the queen of double-entrendres. He will be missed because no one was quite like him on game shows and I don't think anyone ever will.

We're taking bets that being sick in the spring is no fun.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

Hottie Jenna Fischer from The Office fell and broke her back in 4 places the other day. Luckily she will make a full recovery. She might actually get Jim as the season finale ended with Jim asking her on a date. You really gotta love Pam Beesley and I cannot wait until she is back next season. So enjoy Jenna's pictures and wish her good luck in her recovery.

We're taking bets that it's not the job but the money...

Hello WTBT readers!!! I hope that May is treating you all well. It has been an interesting month for me. I usually love change, but there is a lot of crazy stuff going on in my world. I have a few questions about jobs that I think you will enjoy. Get friends to answer or respond to other answers. Have fun and have a great weekend!!!

A. What minimum wage job would you do if the pay wasn't what you would consider low?

B. What is the grossest job you can imagine? How much money per year would it take for you to do that job?

C. What company would you like to be the CEO/President/Top Dog for?

Answers:

A. I would be a cashier at any supermarket or department store. It is okay work that just doesn't get a lot of money. I enjoyed my time working at Caldor. (Northeast Department store that died in the late 90's)

B. I think it would be coroner because you have to see someone at their worst. Especially people who have been murdered. I do not think there is any amount of money that would get me to work as a coroner.

C. I would love to be the president of any college in the United States. I love higher education and I think that I could turn an underperforming school around in seven years.

We're taking bets that information is precious...

Here are three items of importance for everyone.

* If you watch women's feet when they stand they almost always point away from each other. If you look at a guy's feet they are usually pointed straight ahead. That is a weird phenomenon.

* WNEC lacrosse is in the 3rd Round of the NCAA Div. 3 playoffs today. It is amazing they are 17-0 and #3 in the country. Pray for them today.

* Everyone has probably heard the God Grant Me Serenity poem. It is true but sometimes your life is affected by things you cannot change and finding the serenity is hard. Sometimes you want to just punch something and that should be okay too. I know that the poem isn't saying you should hold your emotions in, but too often we are told to "calm down" or "just relax" and maybe that isn't the answer. I say you should let it out as long as you don't hurt yourself or someone else. That should be the best way. On a funny note someone should get me this mug for Christmas or Hanakuh.

We're taking bets that...

* if there is I don't want to meet that person.
* Dice-K might be getting his groove back.
* it is disgusting that Lindsay Lohan is on the top of Maxim's Hot 100 list.
* if this doesn't prove teenagers don't think things through I don't know what does.
* the Suns/Spurs series might be the most intense play-off series this decade.
* Heroes was awesome last night and I cannot wait for the final showdown.
* Cavemen will be the best new comedy on TV next year.
* this guy went too far to taste the rainbow.
* there is always a let down after students leave for summer.

WTBT Volume 39 Series 2007...

We're taking bets that...

* some people you should just not piss off.
* the BoSox comeback yesterday was a thing of beauty.
* I know people love things that are deep fried, but this is getting a little ballsy.
* not having much to do in a small town scares me after that last article.
* Utah could be in the NBA finals if all the cards fall in place.
* Utah in the finals might make Jerry Sloan the best coach ever.
* "homemade porn" is not something you expect to hear in the morning at work.
* I really want a sea lion for a pet.
* the Buffalo Sabres are in trouble and my prediction could be 100% wrong.
* nudists need more powerful lobbyists and marketers.
* you never know what Tony Soprano is going to do.
* Phil Mickelson might be the best lefty golfer ever.
* cruise ships seem to be the least safest way too vacation.
* there should be a new word for really tired and exhausted. Flogelled is the word I have come up with.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week

Uber Hottie Giselle Bundchen just left Victoria's Secret because they could not come to a contract agreement. She is nicknamed The Body and I really don't think she could be any hotter. She is dating the New England Patriots Tom Brady and isn't a half bad actress. Enjoy her pictures and tell me what you think.

* if you want a change of pace from the blockbuster movies go see Waitress with Keri Russell.

* another football game abroad in the NFL will just cause problems with the players union.
* you were blown away by what happened to Locke on LOST this week.
* freeze frame and TiVo really made LOST even that much more exciting.
* you want to know how this guy kicked a police officer.
* his pal the one eyed, one horned flying purple people eater was reformed by prison.
* Dirk Nowitzki is regular season MVP but a postseason DUD.
* you might not love cats, but you probably would love to have a tiger.

We're taking bets that you love answers to life's mysteries...

Hello WTBT readers!!! I hope that everyone is having an absolutely stupendous day. I am having some toner issues and it is making me cranky. I will survive though. Here are a few fun questions for you. I hope you enjoy. Invite others and share the fun!!!

A. If you had to choose between a LifeSaver candy, a BlowPop, a DumDum and a Jolly Rancher (assume each could be your favorite flavor) which would you choose and why?

B. What is the one question that you have never asked the opposite sex that you want answered?

C. What is one sentence or question that you could ask that will keep conversation rolling at a party?

Answers:

A. I would be a DumDum lollipop of almost any flavor because they are super awesome!!! You cannot beat the crazy flavors they have.

B. How do you wear heels that are more than an inch? I feel weird if I try on a pair of work boots with a higher heel.

C. What do you think this thing is on my neck? or If there were no consequences who at this party would you sleep with?

We're taking bets that you need to know these things...

* Taking away positive things as a way to deter negative things has historically never worked. Sadly people who are not involved in in trying to control the negative things are the ones who make decisions. That is usually the case in most jobs and it is sad. No matter how much you feel valued by an organization there are going to be decisions that affect you negatively and you can do nothing about it. :(

* The 5 second rule is alive and well. Thanks to Clemson University we have found out that most people use this with their food. Pretty cool huh?

* Connections with people come and go. Most times they are a result of a chance meeting and you feel that if you had more time something special could have resulted. A friendship, a romantic relationship or even a business partner. Other times you lose a connection after knowing someone for a while. It could be a romantic relationship, a friendship where someone moves or even a student who graduates. The spark is gone or distance has occurred or someone else has replaced you.

Ever year around this time I wonder who I will still be connected with after graduation. It doesn't matter how much time you spent with the other people they will move on. It is sad, but at the same time should make you cherish that time you had even if it was just simple conversations. You can always hope that there was a spark or a deep connection that will allow you to at the very least be friends forever. I hope that every year knowing only a select few will fall into the friends forever category.

WTBT Volume 37 Series 2007...

We're taking bets that...

* sometimes taking an event away doesn't mean the event goes away.
* there is a good chance you could strike out the Florida Marlins because they strike out at least 9 times a game.
* you gotta give Hamas credit for understanding that Mickey is a loved character and could sell ketchup popsicles to kids in white gloves.
* more rich athletes need to follow this example.
* drinking underage is never okay no matter what you think.
* Donovan McNabb hasn't been in the news in a while so he must be close to saying something to prove he is famous. Oops too late.
* this guy doesn't understand when you get away with something you need to leave well enough alone.
* the end of an academic year is always bittersweet.
* the Sabres will beat the Senators in 6 games.
* even when a business owner is doing something right he cannot beat the government.

WTBT Volume 36 Series 2007...

We're taking bets that...

* Roger Clemens might make the Yankees better, but they still need good pitching at least 3 other times each week.
* sometimes even I can be really grossed out by a story.
* there is nothing could about something living in your ears.
* the Suns/Spurs series is going to be the best of the play-offs.
* I know some college students that would have been beer tasters for free.
* AJ is going to be the new Soprano boss before the season ends.
* those tornados in Kansas were super crazy.
* Tiger will win the British Open going away this year.
* I think this is the best thing to come out of Wal-Mart in years.
* the Red Sox-Yankees series at the end of May early June just got a lot more exciting if Roger pitches.
* Paris Hilton in jail could be high comedy.

We're taking bets that Hottie of the Week...

In honor of Hottie George Clooney's 46th Birthday I thought he deserved a spot as the Hottie of the Week. Definitely a fun guy who all the women can enjoy and the guys can hang out with. I for one would love George as my friend because I think he is the ultimate guy's guy.

We're taking bets that it was great to be in elementary school...

Hello WTBT readers!!! I hope that everyone in the Northeast is enjoying this gorgeous spring day. It is super fabulous here at Quinnipiac. I have a few fun questions for everyone. Things about being in elementary school. I think that everyone had a little bit of fun then. At least I hope so. Get others to answer. The more the merrier.

A. What was your favorite subject in elementary school and why?

B. What was your favorite lunch in elementary school?

C. If you could see one of your elementary school teachers again, who would it be and why?

Answers:

A. I loved loved loved when we got to go to the library. I was a huge book person so that was special time since we didn't go every day.

B. Well I loved fish sticks or the fishwich. Any day that was on the menu I was going to get it. I really think it was the tartar sauce. I still love it to this day.

C. I would love to see Mr. Horne again and see how he was doing. I had him for 4th grade math and again in 6th grade. He was such a fun teacher and taught me a lot. He actually helped my brother succeed in school too and I would love to say thanks.

We're taking bets that sometimes 3 things are enough...

3 interesting and potentially important things

1. Older cars tend to suck the life (and money) out of you. It seems impossible that you could spend almost $800 on Saturday and have the car back in the shop on Wednesday. :(

2. Being the underdog and winning is a fantastic feeling. No matter how old you are you will always remember those moments in disbelief that it actually happened. Maybe we will win again today.

3. Even if you think that you are doing the right thing there are tons of other people who don't agree. How you succeed in life is how well you handle that. Change what you can and get past what you can't.

WTBT Volume 35 Series 2007...

We're taking bets that...

* Heroes was pretty incredible last night.
* most of the episode was pretty shocking.
* Robert Horry might be the best basketball player ever with less than 5 seconds on the clock.
* Amber Alerts have been pretty effective in New England.
* they would have been able to trap me too.
* Avery Johnson needs to work harder at motivating Dirk.
* Hesh's girlfriend mysteriously dying is a little bit boring for The Sopranos.
* something tells me that Hesh is going to turn on Tony.
* trying to shoo away college students usually isn't effective.
* skinny dipping in Minnesota in April doesn't sound like fun.
* there had to be a lot of shrinkage.
* Steinbrenner will lose it completely by the end of May if the Yankees are in last place.
* you were not shocked hearing that LA is the most polluted city in the US.
* sometimes you are more ready for the end of the academic year than others.
