We're taking bets that it was great to be in elementary school...

Hello WTBT readers!!! I hope that everyone in the Northeast is enjoying this gorgeous spring day. It is super fabulous here at Quinnipiac. I have a few fun questions for everyone. Things about being in elementary school. I think that everyone had a little bit of fun then. At least I hope so. Get others to answer. The more the merrier.

A. What was your favorite subject in elementary school and why?

B. What was your favorite lunch in elementary school?

C. If you could see one of your elementary school teachers again, who would it be and why?

Answers:

A. I loved loved loved when we got to go to the library. I was a huge book person so that was special time since we didn't go every day.

B. Well I loved fish sticks or the fishwich. Any day that was on the menu I was going to get it. I really think it was the tartar sauce. I still love it to this day.

C. I would love to see Mr. Horne again and see how he was doing. I had him for 4th grade math and again in 6th grade. He was such a fun teacher and taught me a lot. He actually helped my brother succeed in school too and I would love to say thanks.

A. I loved reading. I was a book person growing up too and so any chance to put my nose into some literature was awesome. Art was a close second.

B. In elementary school I usually brought a lunch, and so it was a special treat when Mom would heat up leftover American Chop Suey (or Goulash, as some people call it) and put it in a thermos for me. That was awesome. Though, there will always be a special place in my heart for Methuen High's Turkey Slop. :)

C. I would love to see Mr. Bissonette again. He was my 3rd grade teacher and was just an amazing guy. He was able to bring music into just about everything he taught and was able to relate to the students on all levels. I think he's an assistant principle at one of the grammar schools in Methuen now, but I'm not sure.

Hello Gregory.

A. Art. I loved going down to the art room to play with paints, chalks, clay...It was closly followed by music-they rolled the piano into each classroom and we'd sing our little hearts out. Fun stuff.

B. We didn't have a cafeteria in elementary school, but had hot dog day on Fridays. That was easily my favorite day. Hot Dogs, Jax and fruit punch. Yum. Perhaps that's why hot dogs are still one of my favorite foods today.

C. Mrs. Drake. She was very eccentric and loud and really cared about us. She was super creative and worked extra hard to be our friend as well as our teacher.

Mornin'!

1. My favorite subject was english. I loved it, loved reading and writing... all of it.

2. My favorite school lunch was that sausage pizza that was rectangular and looked like a piece of cardboard with cat vomit on it. I still crave the stuff to this day.

3. The teachers I want to see again are Mrs. Cordes and Mrs. Lingo. They were amazing!

I had to bring lunch to school everyday. Except Friday-which was hot dog day.

And if my parents couldn't afford to give me lunch money that week for hot dogs, I'd often pretend to be sick.

Talk about being embarassed-being the only kid who couldn't afford hot dogs.

*sigh* I'm going to cry in the corner now.

A. All these geeks with the books, recess is where all the action happened! After that Science, cause you got to rip open an owl pellet at some point, and find a chewed up mouse or mole.

B. Steak and Cheese hands down!! That greasy mess always packed some kind of delicious grime deep down inside. I would splash each side of the hot messy grinder roll with mayo and ketchup in hopes that is squirted out the side falling down upon my fries awaiting the fruit cup, and mashed vegetables.(SIGH) Ray and Mike's got nothing on those lunches.

C. Mrs. Block, I know she is still teaching as Greene Hills; and she was just a wonderful Hawaiian educator who loved my dimples.

This was the fortune your blog gave me today:

We were so poor we couldn't afford a watchdog. If we heard a noise at night, we'd bark ourselves.

A. I loved math because numbers always made so much sense and seemed to be such an easy language.

B. I loved the mini pizzas my mom made for me with English muffins...yummy!

C. I would love to see Mrs Doyle again, but she passed away a while ago. I loved her as a teacher because she was tough, but fair.
