Hello WTBT readers!!! I hope you are having a better week than I am. Lots of drama at the Q. I know it will end soon, but I feel like there is a little black cloud hovering over the things I am doing. I have a few work related questions for everyone. I hope you enjoy. I will be blogging about LOST later.
A. What is your favorite thing on your desk today?
B. Do you have a funny nickname for someone at your job that they don't know about?
C. What is the longest and shortest commute you have ever had to a job?
Answers:
A. Today it is my Valentine's Day card from four of my students. They were very nice and shy when they gave it to me and it made me feel great that they thought about me.
B. Most people would think I would, but I actually don't. If this was last year I did, but not this year.
C. My shortest commute was zero minutes because my office was in my apartment. My longest commute was 25 minutes from So. Windsor to Springfield. I hated that ride because gas prices suck. Luckily it is now 3 minutes. :)

A. From my days in Student Affairs - I have a Mr. Potato Head from Disney. I think I am going to change his feet...
B. There is this woman that works in another office who is a germ-o-phobe. She has this ritual in the bathroom that takes up a stall for a good 10 - 15 minutes...no lie. For some reason we call her "Bubbles". Not sure why...she was given that name years ago by someone that doesn't work here any more.
C. The longest commute was 95 minutes and 93 miles. You take the job that is offered when you are desperate. The shortest commute was when I was in college...a 5 minute walk to the office. Those were the days!
Holy cow! I can comment...quickly before it goes away.
My favorite thing is my bobble head elephant. I love elephants and bobble heads are silly-so the combo is perfect!
Danielle and I will have the same one-It's Pretty Boy for the frat boy who works in our office. I think I am gonig to re-name his Creepy McCreepster though. D-Money knows why!!
Longest commute to work...30 minutes from Chester to Middletown. Now it's about the same if there is traffic in the tunnel.
YOWZERS! I made it! :)
A. My favorite thing on my desk is the sticky stegosaurus you gave me one night when you put me on duty. It has since lost its stickiness, but has inpsired a clothing company. Pretty sweet.
B. There is someone who I work with who was nicknamed Venom by a colleague. I think it is hilarious.
C.Longest commute was a 10 minute bike ride, the shortest commute was a 2 minute drive.
A. Since I'm not at work yet... it's my crocheted Mudd the Pig. He's super cute!
B. Yeah, Mags is totally right. It's Pretty Boy. And she does have every right to change his nickname to Creepy McCreeperton. If I were her, I would have by now.
C. Longest: 50 minutes when I lived in Dracut and commuted to Wilmington. There was no good way to get there, and the "backroads" took the same amount of time as the highway... because it took forever to get to the highway. Shortest: Orientation Leader on day 2 of a program day when I had a freshman group. That typically would mean there were students in my room, which meant after I got dressed it was basically immediately time to work. :)
A. My desk is pretty boring, and my Quinnipiac bobblehead doll is my most interesting object...the rest is filled with computers and paperwork.
B. Funny thing....I don't right now...but I should start coming up with them.
C. Well, I'm a territory manager...so right I do my longest "commute"...I have a dealership in Warwick, NY, thats 156 miles and just a shade under 3 hours. My shortest commute was when I walked to work from my apartment in Springfield....two blocks and about 8 minutes.
A. My JC Chasez mousepad featuring a picture I took at Nsnyc's last show togeter...yeah i'm proud
B. You know it!!
C. Longest 2+ hours to work, 1.5 hours home, when I worked in boston
Shortest less than 10 minutes, now
A. I have a lamp I never turn on, which is funny because I used to make fun of an adminstrator in undergrad for having the exact same issue; seems like a waste of space but I do enjoy it.
B. Secet nicknames- yes. Willing to share at this time- no.
C. Shortest communute was 45 seconds at UConn, and the longest commute was 45 minutes. Right now I am at 14 minutes if I drive fast and people stay out of my way.
a. Hamburgler. After a funny converssation comparing Jesus Christ to the Hamburgler...a friend left this mini HB with his arms spread wide waiting for a hug on my desk...i love him. I take photos of him posing with desk items and txt the photos to my friend wt funny comments to my friend who's no longer at my company.
b. We call our CEO either Our Fearless Leader or The New Guy....no one else really has a cool nickname..other than this mean lady in sales who was nicknamed The Jackal because of her horrendous laugh...
c. UML - any of the three jobs I had there all within five minutes walk of where I lived. Longest? 1 hr. 15 mins each way into Boylston Street to work in hell!!
