Forty years ago today Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated by James Earl Ray. His legacy will be inspiring millions with his dream that children be judged not "by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." We have moved forward in positive ways since his death, but we have not yet reached his goal. No one has picked up his torch and truly made a big difference in the United States since.
It is not like people have not tried, but Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton for all the good they have done were not truly effective. Today discrimination is met with outrage but it still happens every single day. We have not reached a point where our society's outrage has been met with change. I hope that each and everyone of you that reads my blog will take some time to read the article below and find more about the great civil right leader Martin Luther King Jr. His messages are still meaningful today and if we can look to his words to lead us a more positive United States.

I disagree. I think diversity is in full swing today, and is part of the problem in many workplaces. Unfortunately, employers fill quotas instead of getting the right man for the job. I think Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have done MORE HARM than good. Come on Greg, they are opportunists and racists themselves, and crazy left wingers to boot. I have no problem working for (and I do work for a woman) others with a different gender, race, creed, or color. I DO have a problem working for an incompitent person who got their job due to their gender, race, creed, or color.
