We're taking bets that you love one hit wonders...

Hello WTBT readers!!! I hope that you week is going fabulously. I am gearing up for the start of another academic year. The excitement is almost overwhelming. Here are a few simple questions for everyone to enjoy. Have a great time and remember to invite friends to answer. Just leave your remarks in the comments section.

A. Who is your favorite one-hit wonder singer/group?

B. What celebrity "because of crazy things that happened" do you secretly like? (ex. Judge Lance Ito from the Simpson trial or John Bobbitt from the case of the missing penis)

C. What is the one place in the world besides a family member's home that you would not want to be banned for life from?

Answers:

A. For me it has to be The Sugar Hill Gang. Rapper's Delight is a classic on so many levels and they never had another hit. I think it is the one rap song that even people who hate rap kinda like.

B. I truly think that Monica Lewinsky is the best fake-celebrity. She got some spooge on her dress and became famous. Everytime I think about it I laugh and that has to count for something.

C. For me it would be devestating to be told I could never go into Fenway Park again. I still remember the day I first went in and will never forget that moment. Although I would like to see them build a new one with more comfortable seats I would want the old one to be a memorial of all the players that played there in the years past.

Ok. Minutes after I posted the ? comment your questions appeared. Before, it was just a headline. Weird.

A. I'd have to say "Whip It" by Devo because everytime you sing it, people want to dance, and everyone knows the song.

B. Hmmm...Tonya Harding? I know she's crazy mean and all, but it's funny that she's essentially white trash but she tried breaking into the prestigious skating world, and when she couldn't hack it, she whacked it.

C. Epcot Center and the Magic Kingdom. I don't think I need to elaborate.

A. I'd have to say "Scatman" by Scatman John. I love that song, I don't know why. But he never came out with anything els. I will say though, that "Hey Girl" by O.A.R. is a close second...

B. I'd say it's a toss-up between Joey Buttafouco and John Wayne Bobbit. Here are two shady guys, er, scumbags who became famous because the women who loved them went insane. I'd prefer to NEVER see the John Wayne Bobbit porno... though.. I still want to see the Joey & MaryJo Buttafouco reunion with Amy Fisher... so if anyone has that...

C. Walt Disney World. I would cry. Vegas is a close second, but, even though I love Vegas, I would be way more heartbroken if they told me I couldn't go to WDW.

1. I'm kind of big on the one-hit wonders from the '60s and '70s. So many, I can't choose! For the moment, I'll have to go with MacArthur Park, not because it is a good song - so much as it is Richard Harris - and gods know I can't pass up the man who played King Arthur AND Dumbledore.

2. Kato Kalin, if only because he has a huge sense of humor about the fact that he hasn't earned a damn thing. From what I've seen, he never takes himself seriously, because he knows he's made his "career" out of being a complete slacker. Besides, some of the answers he gave to Marcia during the trial...ballsy. Granted, that could've all been scripted, but it made for good Court TV.

3. Canada. Nothing in the northern parts. If I had to narrow it down, I'd say Vancouver (mild climate all year round, and in some places I think you can avoid those Seattle rains).

A: So many to choose from, first off, I would like to say to Danielle that I just got back from the OAR concert and I don't know if I would necessarily consider them a one hit wonder, more of an underground cult following. I would have to say my favorite one hit wonder would be "Everyone falls in love sometimes" by Tanto Metro and Davonte. Great song to dance to, easy lyrics to remember, and try to stay in a bad mood while listening to it.

B: The kid from the Numa Numa dance video online. That thing was all over the internet for so long, and he really didn't do anything.

C: If I could never go to the Outer Banks again in North Carolina, I wouldn't be the same. I have been going down there for 15 years, and now own a house there, so it would be devistating to me to have to forget about that place that has been a part of me for so long.

A. Chumbawumba, without question... ya' dont get much more one hit wonderish than them.

B. im not sure if i understand the question right... but a radio station in NH just did an interview with the kid from the cover of Nervana's "nevermind" album, the naked baby chasing the dollar. i must say, i would love to be remembered for that one photo.

C. Germany, i've only been there once, but i loved it and i am planning on going back soon. It has so much culture and is so different from the United States.

My apologies for misspelling Nirvana before (for anyone who really cares).

Thanks for participating Tom and Mica. It is nice to have some new readers and responders. I do think that it is pretty cool that kid from the Nirvana cover is older now. I never thought of that before.

Tom, that's totally fair about OAR. I think they're really good, so I'm glad to find out they have an underground cult following.

I would have to take that back then, and probably stick with Scatman John, "Scatman". :-)

Also Greg, you forgot Laura! She's a me-referral. :-)
