We're taking bets that most crazy stories involve animals...

Here are a few random observations over the last few days.

* Animals make for some great stories. I am someone who believes that animals should be treated with respect but think the people at PETA are a little bit crazy. Currently they are all up in arms about Pig Castrations in schools. It seems to me that if you are planning on being a farmer this would be an important skill to learn. If you are not then I think you should be able to opt out of that class. So one kid vomitted, who cares? Quincy ME did not seem to mind when all of his students passed out when he showed them a cadaver. It happens and how else are you going to learn about pig castrations. Not many kids are doing this on the streets.

* I know that this guy has some sort of problem, but this story truly is funny. What do you think that he really was trying to do with the sheep? I am also wondering why the Little Rock Zoo has sheep? Isn't a zoo for different and exotic animals? Aren't most sheep kept on farms? This story just seems to get weirder and weirder. Maybe this is why Arkansas consistently lags in education standards across the country. The kids think sheep are exotic animals. Well I guess that is better than thinking of them as potential romantic partners.

* To continue with the animal theme this story about loving your pets just creeps me out. I appreciate caring and loving your pet, but if it is taking the place of a human being and you are not over the age of 60 I think you may have a problem. The statistics are a little bit crazy, but here is my favorite: One in seven dog owners said their partner is jealous of their relationship with their dog. Reasons included: spending so much time with my pet (43 percent); the dog likes me better (33 percent); prefer to cuddle with my dog rather than my mate (12 percent); and I did more for the dog's birthday than my significant other's (3 percent). What is going on with these people? You should love your pets, but you should lurvh them? You know what I'm saying?

* I think that my favorite story in the Olympics has been by Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN. He calls out Bryant Gumbel on his stupid comments about the Olympics. It is nice to know that someone has the cajones to stand up to the evil Mr. Gumbel.

* The Shani Davis/Chad Hedrick thing has been blown way out of proportion. Does anyone know why? Because Shani is black and Chad is white. This is why our media and our country is fucked up racially. This story made me a little bit happy because it showed the support Shani was getting from his friends and family.

* How is it possible that someone in US politics does not know that Daily Show is a fake news show. Well the governor of Illinois had some issues. Poor guy was made fun of and he was befuddled. What a shame.

* My last thing to mention is that I am proud to say that my best friend Ian is an evil genius when it comes to technology. It doesn't matter what technology throws at him he finds a solution. Thanks to Ian I am now a member of TiVo nation.

Welcome to the wonderful world of TiVo. No more commercials, unless you want to see them...then you can see them about 1000 times if you want. Wake up at 2:00 a.m. - why not watch some compelling television - you choose what you tivo'ed.

Enjoy. We'll never go back!

The plus to the whole Shani issue is he has gotten crazy support on his website. One would think that in todays world race would no longer be such an issue, but one can dream right!!??
Why couldn't people just leave it at Shani Davis, Speedskating Gold Medalist...that would be too damn easy!
