We're taking bets that it is time to honor great Americans...

Here are a few astute observations of the last few days.

* With the passing of Coretta Scott King and the retiring of Alan Greenspan it is time to look back on both of their accomplishments. Coretta was not just MLK Jr.'s wife, but she founded the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta and used it to confront hunger, unemployment, voting rights and racism. Alan Greenspan dedicated 18 years to the US Federal Reserve attempting to minimize the bad economic times and enhance the good times. The achievements of these two Americans might be overlooked, but today I salute them both.

* Has the State of the Union address become too much of a media event? I know that a majority of Americans were just pissed because Scrubs wasn't on, but to hear GWB and then have to hear the Democratic response is just too much. Basically the Democratic response is an exact opposite opinion of GWB's policies. We get it you don't like each other.

* The old saying goes if you are in a lion cage beware of the lion. Alright I don't know if that is an old saying but I have a new one. If you go into a elephant cage you will probably be trampled. What is with the deal with picture of the elephant after the trampling? Is it kind of like a mug shot? I also like the article for the fact that they don't mention the parents are going to sue the zoo. That is why I love Paraguay; it is not a very litigious country. Plus the parents would lose because the kid scaled a rock wall and two metal fences.

* The word of the day for news stories is Purloined. Poor Kory Tibbets of Orem, Utah who called the police to report purloined pot. I know that marijuana isn't completely damaging to people, but it definitely has some bad effects. HELLO!!! Calling the police to report stolen illegal drugs is just crazy. Attention pot users your judgment will be affected by smoking marijuana and the police will arrest you. Have a nice day. :)
