We're taking bets that you need to be entertained...

Below are a few things to do, see, read or listen to over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy my recommendations and find yourself entertained.

Go See:
We Own the Night opens today. Mark Wahlberg is becoming one of the best actors of our time. He keeps making great movies and this drama looks like a winner. Joaquin Phoenix does creep me out a little bit, but Eva Mendes really will make up for that. It is about the NYPD in the 80's and it will be a great thriller for the fall.

Gone Baby Gone on October 19th. It is based on a book by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River). It stars Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman and Casey Affleck and was directed by Ben Affleck. Although that might turn you off, but the story is so good I think it will be better than Mystic River. Check it out.

Watch:

The Major League Baseball Championship Series started last night with a bang. There are four tough teams out there and even if you don't know anyone on the Rockies or Diamondbacks you will after this series. Although the Red Sox/Indians is the marquee match-up I think both teams will struggle with the NL team in the World Series. Every night for the next week there will be games on. Don't miss out.

The Office on Thursday nights. It continues to be one of the most fun shows on TV. Last night was hilarious with the Launch Party of the new website. Dwight is pining over Angela and he looks awful. Pam & Jim have been a great couple. What a great show.

Pushing Daisies is on Wednesday nights at 8 pm on ABC. It is different than every other show on TV. It is sweet with a little bit of comedy and drama thrown in.

Read:

Spy by Ted Bell. He has written four books and I feel like each book is more exciting than the next. Follow the adventures of Alexander Hawke and his abilities to stop global terrorism.

Echo Park by Michael Connolly. An excellent writer who has crafted a complex detective in Harry Bosch. Working the Open/Unsolved crime unit has given Harry many exciting cases and you never know which way the book is going to turn until the end.

I enjoyed this post very much Greg-you haven't done something like this in a while, and it's way cool...I am definatly going to see We Own the Night even though I'm with you on the JP thing, I'm also with you on the Eva thing...

Also, I missed Pushing Daisies and am glad that you watched it and said it was good. Now I know that next Wednesday won't be a waste of time. :)

And, do you notice that the worse Dwight looks, the better Angela looks? I wouldn't have ever said that she looked pretty even off the set, but this season see seems brighter and I dunno...pretty. Hmmm...

Angela is a cutie regardless. Pushing Daisies was so good this week. Creepy fun.
